Spend all you have for loveliness, Buy it and never count the cost; For one white singing hour of peace Count many a year of strife well lost. — Sarah Teasdale, “Barter”
A Letter from the Editor-in-Chief
Dear friends,
What a long and beautiful journey we have had at St. Katherine Review! Over the years we have published so much incredible work. Truly, everyone who has been a part of this journal has done so as a labor of love. The reward of this work and this journal has been immense and we cannot begin to thank everyone associated with the founding and support of SKR.
As most of our readers and contributors know by now, the University of St. Katherine, which is the supporting institution for St. Katherine Review, has closed for financial reasons. Our prayers and support go out to the students, administration, and faculty of the university. We pray for warmth and comfort, for healing, for new jobs, for new opportunities, and for new places of learning and care for everyone in the USK community.
Now, as to the fate of St. Katherine Review: I have communicated with Dr Frank Papatheofanis and have been offered the opportunity to take over the journal. After some consideration, I am thrilled to announce that I have accepted this offer and will continue to publish SKR. This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the journal and I look forward to sharing more soon.
In the meantime, our submissions will remain open and our poetry editor, Sheila Murray Nellis, is still hard at work reading your beautiful words. As we consider our relaunch, if you’d like to be a part of this new journey I hope you’ll reach out! You can find me at angeladollcarlson@gmail.com.
